Background news storyYou silly people. Disillusioned by the thought that you're doing good for the kids, you illegally try to bring 33 Haitian children into your christian homes. You might be able to provide them with a financially stable life, lots of food, clean water, and shelter but let me ask you this; can you give them their Haitian culture that you were going to take away when you move them away from their homes? Even though the US is much stronger economically in this capitalistic corporatist society, contrary to what you may think, money isn't everything. There are cultures out there that you wouldn't even be able to begin to grasp because it's been so ingrained in your head that your world is the best, the center of the universe, that all others should revolve around you.
Open up your eyes. Your motives, while they may be genuine, sometimes aren't the best for the people you're hoping the help. Don't brainwash them with your ideals. Don't bring them back to your homes. Help them where they are. Help improves their lives without making them lose their family, their culture, their sense of self. I hope this becomes a learning experience for you.
PS: I know you're missionaries and all but please don't impose your religion on others.
